The exact scenes could have possibly happened to celebrities or even regular people irl, we just wouldn't have known it. I have read the reviews prior to reading the story, but holy shit, it was so freaking sad because of how relatable/realistic it was. Despite having only 7-8 chapters, it tackled the depth of the leads relationship and contained character development (long ass novels could neverrr).
